By Hey, remember when Lars von Trier told that joke about his next film being an epic hardcore porno? Well not only was he not joking, but the director wasn’t even exaggerating. The film is called Nymphomaniac, and will depict the sexual growth of a woman from age zero (hawt) to age fifty. There will be two versions: the DVD you should probably wait for, and a softer theatrical release. The film’s producer, Peter Jensen, has stated that how much pornography the film decides to show will be guided by “what financing dictates” but if any of you saw Antichrist I think you can assume the Von Trier will just shoot cheaper if he’s pressed to.
As we reported earlier, not having a clue if it was legit because he also said he dug Hitler that day, Nymphomaniac will be made with the stars of Melancholia, provided they’re actually on board. That narrows our nympho to Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, or Charlotte Rampling, the last of which is no stranger to pushing erotic boundaries. From everything said, I have to assume this guy is a big fan of The Night Porter. With Alex’s earlier report of duelling Linda Lovelace pics, and Olivia Wilde circling that role, I think we can make it official…
