Not in any of the capacities you might hope for, sadly. The lovely star of Tron: Legacy and the probable-crapfest The Change-Up recently expressed her interest in starring in a biopic of infamous Deep Throat pornstar-turned-activist Linda Lovelace in a film from directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman. This film would be in near-direct competition with another Linda Lovelace project, Inferno, starring Malin Ackerman as Lovelace. Wilde had this to say about the opportunity to play Lovelace: “It would be a tremendous honour… It’s such a cool role. She was a fascinating woman—with where she came from to Deep Throat to then working with Gloria Steinem and Nora Ephron. It’s really fascinating.”
Wilde’s gaining a lot of cred right now, so she’s got the clout and the looks to get cast in such a project. How well she’ll do with the material is something up for debate, as I don’t think she’s really had a chance to work her dramatic chops, though her body’s been on screen a decent amount already, with or without her knowledge. Jesus, that’s a creepy sentence! I’ll just stop now.
