FXX’s cult dark comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will be returning for its 14th season on September 25, 2019. A new trailer shows off a few moments of insanity from the upcoming episodes and the rage seems to be intact. While it’s shocking that a show so offensive is still on the air, I’ve been a big fan since I started watching a few years back. I love that someone is willing to produce comedy that pushes boundaries in 2019, especially with most shows opting to appeal to literally everyone at once.
Whether or not It’s Always Sunny can keep the momentum going from last season is yet to be seen. I had started to grow a little tired of the gang at the end of the 12th season, but season 13 was more than willing to experiment with the group in new ways. It gave me a newfound respect for what Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, and Rob McElhenney started all those years ago. We could use more comedies like It’s Always Sunny in our lives.
