Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling, the Netflix reboot movie of the popular ’90s cartoon series, will be airing in just two weeks. In anticipation of the release, Netflix has uploaded a trailer to get us all prepped with some basic story details. It seems Static Cling will feature Rocko and his pals attempting to get the “Fatheads” show rebooted so that Rocko can relive his past. That cuts a lot deeper than I think the writers intended.
I’m still not sure if I’m on board with the humor here, but I’m willing to give this a shot for old time’s sake. Rocko was one of the weirder and more daring shows to come out of Nickelodeon’s “Nick Toons” line-up and it never did get the finale it deserved. While I sincerely doubt Static Cling will be leading to new seasons of the show, I can only hope that fans get the closure they’ve wanted for more than 20 years now.
Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling will be available for streaming on Netflix starting on August 9, 2019.
