After months of rumors, Javier Bardem has finally confirmed he will be playing the villain in the 23rd Bond film, which is probably called Skyfall.
This delightful little morsel was revealed by Bardem himself in an interview with Nightline. The interviewer asked him about the possibility, and he responded with “I am very excited, my parents took me to watch the movies, and I saw all of them, and to play that is going to be fun. They chose me to play this man, but I cannot give you many details.” You can watch the full interview after the jump.
This is awesome, because we know for a fact that when it comes to menace and foreboding, Javier Bardem packs both in spades. He has the imposing physicality and can pull off the cold, calculating mastermindery needed for what could potentially be one of the greatest Bond villains of all time. I’m a lot more excited now than I was for the next installment of the long-running franchise.
