Quick, who’s a badass you’d like to see take over the Mission Impossible franchise?
Yes, I know I’d be awesome. I mean other than me. If you chose Jeremy Renner, you could be right! The Hurt Locker and Avengers star is currently shooting with Tom Cruise on Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol, and in an interview with MTV News, The Ren indicated that rumors that Tom Cruise is looking to hand off the franchise may be true. “It’s a franchise to potentially take over,†according to Hawkeye. “I can’t predict the future and what they want, but that’s certainly the idea.â€
I more liked the idea of Cruise handing off the M:I reigns to an ensemble cast. The best part of the very first Mission: Impossible was the opening twenty minutes when the entire group is working together as a badass spy team. The two more Ethan Hunt-centric have had their strong points, but they’ve always missed that awesome synergy from the first movie. Regardless, Jeremy Renner is an amazing actor, and I’d love to see him headlining any action movie.
