It seems we can’t even go a few hours without some more information on The Matrix 4 getting revealed. According to the latest report from Deadline, it looks like Game of Thrones and Iron Fist star Jessica Henwick is now in negotiations to join the cast of The Matrix 4. This is in addition to this morning’s announcement of Neil Patrick Harris joining the cast and Jada Pinkett Smith in talks to join. I guess WB is really pulling out all the stops to get a star-studded cast going.
Sources told the publication that Henwick gave a strong performance during the audition process. Rumors are circulating that director Lana Wachowski has been looking for an actress to take on the role of someone similar to Neo, so maybe Henwick’s character will be corresponding with teachings from Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) in a digital capacity. I guess the pieces are starting to fall in place.
Whether or not this is a direct sequel or some kind of soft-reboot remains to be seen. Knowing how the news is going, we’ll probably get our next clue in roughly four hours.
