Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler for Guardians of the Galaxy?

Despite Iron Man 3 leading the pack of Marvel’s Phase 2 films, I think all eyes are on 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s no surprise, given how much of a gamble the film will be, what with a lesser-known group of superheroes. However, imagine all of the merchandising and self-advertising Marvel will gather if the James Gunn (Super) directed film is a success.

Hoping to capitalize on the film’s potential, Marvel is reportedly targeting Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler for roles in the film. Latino Review reports that the two funny men are on Marvel’s radar, but it’s unsure which role they’re being targeted for. However, money’s being put on the voice role for Rocket Raccoon.

Personally, I’m rooting for Carrey. Nothing against Sandler, but it would be awesome to have one of my favorite actors alongside the remarkable group of actors currently wrapped tight in the Marvel blanket.
