Ever since seeing John Travolta in 2016’s American Crime Story: the People vs. OJ Simpson as celebrity attorney Robert Shapiro I’ve been aching to see more of him as morally ambiguous characters. Well I don’t have to look much further than the new Gotti trailer that just released on Tuesday.
Although I question the music choice and how much material they are showing in the trailer, the movie looks to be another quality mob movie in a long line of success for the genre. The film looks to show the rise and fall of notorious NYC mob boss John Gotti. Travolta playing the lead role looks to go through John Gotti’s entire adult life for this movie and I wouldn’t be surprised with the December 15th, 2017 release that they are hoping for Oscar looks at this biopic, but the dual release on VOD and in theaters brings that into question.
Gotti stars John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Stacy Keach, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Spencer Lofranco. It is directed by Kevin Connolly of Entourage fame.
