Oh, boy Joker fans get ready as we may be finally getting to see The Joker as he was originally intended on screen: downright creepy, sadistic and definitely evil. SO evil in fact, that DC Comics has apparently considered the film may need to be Rated R.
The rating according to a cast member, could also be due to some of the brief female nudity we will see from characters in lesser roles. Nudity in a Batman Universe film? This probably is a first for the series. Just don’t take your kids to see this (and if it does get an R-Rating good luck getting them in even if it does get downgraded)
Bryan Callen who was recently added to the cast shared a bit of what we can expect:“I’m doing the Joker.” Callen explained on his most recent podcast episode “I was offered a part. That’ll be fun, but I think it’s only a couple days. Play an aging dancer, stripper. I don’t want to go into the details. I can’t go into the details, but just know it’s gonna be good. And I hope my psoriasis is flaring cause that’ll be very funny. I’ll be in a Speed-O, I can’t wait. I have some ideas for it.”
I am definitely excited to see The Joker as he is meant to be and, yes, we did get a glimpse of him when the late great Heath Ledger portrayed him back in The Dark Knight. Joker: Origin is scheduled for release sometime in 2019 and I am eagerly awaiting more details.
Hopefully, fans aren’t disappointed and DC Comics does stay true to what it hopes to do with The Joker. Suicide Squad Joker didn’t exactly leave me running scared.
