While it has been rumored for a while, Jon Favreau has finally confirmed through Twitter that he is indeed directing Jersey Boys, the theatrical adaptation of the Broadway musical centered on Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ rise to fame. While there still isn’t news as to whether or not filming will take place before or after Favreau’s Magic Kingdom adaptation (although filming for Jersey Boys is slated for January 2013), the Jersey Boys casting directors have sent out an open casting call for the four male leads.
According to Backstage.com, Open calls will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18, in Philadelphia, Saturday, Aug. 25, in New York, and if you can’t make it to either of the two auditions you (Alec) can submit a video to them online by August 22nd.
Are any of you, our super talented, super sex-ay readers, going to try out for this? As a huge fan of musicals, it would mean a great deal to me if watched the film and could say, “Hey, I kinda know that guy! He sort of commented on my post that one time!”
