By News continues to trickle out about Zack Synder’s Superman reboot Man of Steel. Though previous word on the street pegged Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Clark Kent’s adoptive Earth parents, there was no word on who would play his Kryptonian parents. Now, Deadline brings news that Julia Ormond is in talks to play Lara Lor-Van, Superman’s birth momma. And damn, it’s a good thing Kal-El doesn’t grow up around her, because he’d have one crazy Oedipus complex.
Apparently, Russel Crowe is also being considered for Superman’s birth father Jor-El, but that’s just not as interesting as Julia Ormond. Here’s hoping she’s treated better than the women in Synder’s last film.
