If you were starting to get sick of the Jurassic Park series, I’ve got some incredible news for you…as long as you redefine what incredible means. In a recent interview with Collider, producer Frank Marshall stated that the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion won’t be the end of the series as we know. As a matter of fact, it’s primed to be a new launching off point for future projects.
When asked if Dominion would be the end, Marshall said, “No. It’s the start of a new era. The dinosaurs are now on the mainland amongst us, and they will be for quite some time, I hope.” That sounds like a whole gaggle of sequels are being planned, which just fills me with dread. Can we go back to the old days where sequel felt like meaningful additions to a story instead of getting churned out every other year?
Collider postulates about how Dominion might end the stories of Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) while introducing new characters, which would be one way of ending a trilogy while starting another. I’m more just thinking this will be like Star Wars and I would like to avoid another Rise of Skywalker scenario.
