Parents, am I right? Can’t live with them, wouldn’t be alive without them.
With the sudden approach of Christmas and other winter celebrations, it’s that time in which we all dread traveling to visit our families. There’s the commuting, the fighting, the lingering bitterness that’s had the chance to percolate like a pot of stew that’s sat in the back yard all summer. We’re all festering with fear and trepidation (or maybe it’s just me), so what a good time to watch a trailer for a movie about daddy issues!
The above trailer for Come to Daddy (a title that works as well here as it did for Aphex Twin) is a hundred percent my sort of lurid, off-beat genre fare. It starts out well enough with a bowl-cut Elijah Wood (everyone’s favorite hobbit turned weirdo) standing at the front door. Then, in a short two minutes we see a first meeting of father and son turn to tension and then straight up madness. I don’t know exactly what kind of crazy we’re going to be in for, but I have a feeling it’s going to be the good stuff.
Come to Daddy will hit theaters and VOD on February 7, 2020.
