If there’s one fear constantly preying on my mind, one inescapable dread that keeps me up at night, it’s this: Between the release of the Child’s Play remake and The Boy 2, there’s just over a full month’s gap in which no movies about killer dolls are being released. How is one supposed to suffer so long without a toys-come-to-life (and death!) horror film shooting through his or her eyeballs? The simple answer is that you can’t. Everyone on Earth would die. Thankfully, that won’t have to be the case.
Not to be confused with Stuart Gordon’s 1987 killer-toys film, Dolls will feature Dee Wallace and follows a struggling alcoholic children’s book author. He inherits a house and moves himself and his teenage daughter inside. Little does he know, however, that the attic contains a bunch of killer dolls. Hate it when that happens. This is why it’s best that whenever you move into a new house just burn everything in both the attic and basement. You’ll sleep better knowing you did.
Dolls is set to hit DVD and VOD on July 2, 2019.
