Kirsten Dunst is set to join the cast of the upcoming film The Power of the Dog. An adaptation of a 1967 novel (being directed by Jane Campion), Dunst is replacing Elizabeth Moss in an unspecified role. Moss was forced to drop out after a scheduling conflict with her Hulu series prevented her from continuing with the production.
Dunst will be co-starring with Benedict Cumberbatch when the film releases in 2021. Netflix will be handling distribution of the movie, with a limited theatrical released planned alongside its debut on the streaming platform. Transmission Films will distribute the film in Australia and New Zealand, while the UK TV rights are being retained by BBC Films.
