Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson should no longer be referred to as “Twilight stars”, as they’ve both stolen the show in multiple movies since then (see Clouds of Sils Maria and The Rover). Now Stewart has been cast in Kelly Reichardt’s (Meek’s Cutoff, Night Moves) next movie, according to a Deadline exclusive.
Reichardt may or may not be on your radar as of yet, but she certainly should be. With movies as distinctive and memorable as Wendy and Lucy – starring Michelle Williams in her second best role – and Meek’s Cutoff – starring Michelle Williams in her best role – and Night Moves – starring Jesse Eisenberg and Dakota Fanning in their best roles – she has a unique ability to bring out the best in her actors.
Written and directed by Reichardt, the movie will take place in Montana, a state perfectly suited for her auteur signature; environmental storytelling. It will follow a small group of people, and Stewart will star alongside Michelle Williams, Laura Dern, Jared Harris and James Le Gros. It’s good to see so many strong female voices working together on one project.
