By In the highly anticipated sequel from WB’s only successful DC shared universe film, our iconic and powerful female protagonist Wonder Woman will reportedly face off against the Target Lady. That’s right, Kristen Wiig is being eyed as the villain for the next Wonder Woman film. I don’t get it, but I might be into it.
The news comes from Deadline, who report that Wiig will portray comic book villain Cheetah. For those of you unfamiliar with the comics, Cheetah has the appearance and abilities of a cheetah.
While this may sound like an unconventional casting choice, Wiig has been shifting into dramatic territory, with roles in films like The Martian, The Diary of a Teenage Girl and heck, even mother! Her big scene in that absurd movie alone might demonstrate to some that she has the chops to be a baddie.
The sequel to Wonder Woman will release Nov. 1, 2019, and will be directed by Patty Jenkins.
