Space Jam 2 will be slamming into theaters on July 16, 2021. The news was confirmed in a Tweet by SpringHill Entertainment (Lebron James’ own company) with a message of “Save the Date.” I don’t know if the release of this barely asked for sequel is comparable to a wedding ceremony, but that is the universe we live in.
More alarming is the poster art. How is that an official thing? I’m hoping that is just a mock-up until something more final comes along, but no one looks enthused to be there. Lebron appears to be standing on a different plane of existence while Lola Bunny is staring into the abyss like she has lost the will to live. Bugs seems to know what’s good, though.

Are you at all excited for Space Jam 2? I know the first has a bit of a cult following, but I honestly don’t remember much about it. I know I begged my dad to take me as a kid and we were both a little shocked that Looney Toons were bleeding blood. It was certainly something I never expected to see, at the very least.
