By Hey remember that The LEGO Movie sequel we talked about? Well it looks like we will be getting it May 26, 2017, which is crazy specific for a movie that is 3 years out. The LEGO Movie, which racked in $200 million in worldwide grosses, is an astonishing piece of work, and almost seemed like a test to see what people could get away with when it came to Hollywood and is definitely deserving of a sequel.
Only thing that worries me, is that Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan are writing the script for the sequel. While I am not familiar with Michelle Morgan’s work, I am very familiar with the atrocities that are Jared Stern’s screenplay (The Internship and Mr. Popper’s Penguins) which is a huge fall from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who wrote the original and are known for their relatively good screenplays (21 Jump Street and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs). But who knows, we are still 3 years out and anything can happen…..I hope….
