Remember when Jim Carey cared about what the hell he was doing and turned in a performance so good that it should have won him an Oscar? Netflix remembers.
That’s why, we theorize, they’re releasing Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond – With a Very Special, Contractually Obligated Mention of Tony Clifton. It’s a movie about the bat shit crazy that Jim Carey went when he took on the role of his idol, And Kaufman. Obviously he nailed the role as its one of the most transcendental performances ever, but judging from this trailer, it cost him a bit. Maybe the crushing blow of not winning the Oscar wasn’t the only reason his star faded.
For behind-the-scenes junkies like myself this one is going to be a must watch, but it looks seriously engaging no matter what.
