Fantastic Voyage is one of those B-movies that a lot of people have heard of but not necessarily seen. Trust me, it’s fantastically crappy. It’s about “scientists†that shrink down to take a trip into the human body. It’s the basis for Innerspace, one of my personal favorites. Now, it looks like James Cameron is all ready to go ahead with producing a Fantastic Voyage remake, in 3D of course, and Louis Leterrier is on the top of his list of directors. An odd choice indeed, if you guys remember back when Clash of the Titans came out, Cameron was not kind to the mega-terrible post-production 3D conversion.
As much as I didn’t care for Clash of the Titans, Louis Leterrier made The Incredible Hulk, which I adore, and the Luc Besson-written Unleashed, a.k.a. Danny the Dog, which is absolutely amazing and may be my favorite Jet Li movie. Then again, he also did The Transporter, which I find to be deadly dull at times. This is one to watch, cats and kittens.
