By Word from Deadline is that Boo! A Madea Halloween is getting a sequel called Boo 2! A Madea Halloween. That’s probably the most awkward movie title ever, and may not even be factually correct since every Madea film is a sequel to the original, right? The film is set to release on October 20, and I’m guessing they hope it’ll do as well as the last one, which brought in a whopping $75 million, on what I’m guessing is the same budget as a loaf of bread and some cheese whiz from Food Lion.
As a film critic I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I have never seen a Madea movie. They’re a massive part of the film industry, though, and make a sizeable profit every time one is released. They’re not made for me, that’s for sure, but I should probably go see one eventually so I can try to understand the appeal. Maybe they actually are hilarious.
