By Maika Monroe, who impressed immensely in The Guest and It Follows, has been cast as the female lead in Independence Day 2.
It’s a huge leap for the Californian actress, who’s made a name for herself as a millennial scream queen in smaller productions in the past year. With Independence Day 2, she’ll star alongside Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum and Judd Hirsch, who are all back in action from the first movie. New faces include Charlotte Gainsbourg, Joey King, Liam Hemsworth and Jessie Usher.
Monroe will play the daughter of the President aka Mr. Pullman, and Hemsworth’s love interest. We don’t know much more than that, but let’s hope her she’ll get some self-defined characteristics, beyond this mans daughter, and the other mans love interest.
