Now that Batman is starring alongside Superman in the Man of Steel sequel, and we’ve pretty much gotten all of our anger/pity/celebration/confusion out of the way (but expect just a little more of that later this week), what next? It’s time to start guessing what exactly the two are going to be doing (I hope the movie is two hours of Superman and Batman getting ice cream).
And by the looks of the film’s possible title, Batman vs. Superman, they’re going to be fighting each other. Speaking on a Superman 75th Anniversary Panel at Comic-Con last weekend, David S. Goyer (writer of the first film, and confirmed writer for the second) spoke about the nature of the film:
…so the next film we’re making, we’re already in pre-production, comes out in summer of 2015 and it’s–we’re actually not sure whether the title is Superman vs. Batman or Batman vs. Superman but yes, it’s–that rematch, that combination, the two guys onscreen and that’s happening
Comicbook.com did a little Inter-sleuthing and found out that Warner Bros has a number of websites registered, which includes Batman vs. Superman, but does not include Superman vs. Batman or any other combination. I hope this is just a placeholder, and the real title is better. This seems so lazy. Sure it’s got broad appeal, but at least try and be creative with it. Whatever. Superman is so terrible now that he couldn’t even get top billing in his own sequel.
