And lo, as of this day, we may add to that list Patriot’s Day and Boston Strong. Patriot’s Day is the recently announced film from the famously socially conscious Marky Mark, and CBS Films, He’ll be producing and likely starring in the film, and Matt Charman is writing the script. It’ll be a thriller from the POV of the police and FBI as they conduct a manhunt for the Tsarnaev Brothers.
I’m just gonna say it: everything about this announcement is disgusting. It’s exploitative and actively equates patriotism with a militarised police force, trying to rewrite the narrative for a more complex period in time, and they’ve done nothing to earn the benefit of the doubt.
