It looks like Sony’s Uncharted film is finally happening for real this time. With the news of Tom Holland taking over the leading role, it was only a matter of time that we’d hear about other cast members joining the project. As Variety reports, Mark Wahlberg (of Departed and Transformers: Age of Extinction fame) is in final talks to set out for adventure on the movie.
As noted in the report, Wahlberg was previously attached to the project years ago when David O. Russell was helming it. After being reworked into an origin story for protagonist Nathan Drake -of which Holland will be playing-, Wahlberg expressed a desire to return in some form. Maybe he’ll be taking on the role of a younger Victor Sullivan?
At any rate, expect some Bostonian charm when Uncharted does finally materialize in December 2020.
