According to a discussion held with MTV, famed director Martin Scorsese has confirmed that he wants his latest partner-in-crime, Leonardo DiCaprio, to depict the late crooner, Frank Sinatra, in his upcoming biopic of the singer’s life. This comes as no surprise, as the Scorsese and DiCaprio connection has been very effective since the pair first teamed together for the 2002 film, Gangs of New York.
However, the news comes a bit prematurely as Scorsese hopes to shoot The Irishman next, which will star his old flame, Robert De Niro, as well as the gauntlet of who’s who in gangster films, consisting of Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, and Harvey Keitel. Considering how well-received Hugo was, as well as the prospects of his future projects, it’s a good time to be a Scorsese fan.
…even if he’s an avid supporter of 3D.
