By First of all, I’d like to go on record as saying the Rocky saga is favorite franchise of all time. More than Godzilla and The Simpsons combined. So when someone says they’re making more of them (you guys weren’t around for Rocky Balboa‘s announcement, thankfully), I tend to get a little excited. When someone says good folks are behind the production? I tend to write in all caps. So for those who don’t want to read that, know that Micheal B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler (who recently worked on Fruitvale Station together) proposed the idea of a Rocky spinoff film about Apollo Creed‘s grandson (title Creed), and Stallone was full for the idea (is also executive producing) and will return as Rocky Balboa to mentor him.
Now, for everyone else, here’s my reaction:
ANOTHER ROCKY MOVIE? YES YES YES THANK YOU. A ROCKY MOVIE ABOUT A RICH KID WHO WANTS TO BOX BUT DOESN’T HAVE TO? YES YES YES THANK YOU. HE SEEKS OUT ROCKY BALBOA (HIS FATHER’S OLD RIVAL) TO TRAIN HIM? YES YES YES THANK YOU. ROCKY BALBOA TRAINS HIM BECAUSE HE POSSESSES A “NATURAL INSTINCT”? YES YES THANK YOU. GIMME MORE MONTAGES
