Along with news of an animated Transformers spin-off, some other news sprouted out of Paramount’s weird writer’s workshop which Paramount paid somewhere along seven figures to construct. The writers included (Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk), Jeff Pinker (Lost), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man), Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (who’re currently tasked with that animated spin-off), Christina Hodson (Shut In), Lindsey Beer (Short Circuit), Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down), Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet) eventually came up with some ideas and stretched Transformers‘ thin premise as far as it could.
Some of those ideas will make their way into Akiva Goldsman’s (I Am Legend, Batman & Robin) script for Transformers 5. Deadline confirms that Mark Wahlberg is set to return but Michael Bay is still in discussion. He’s probably trying to figure out if there’s enough money left to get him to return. He got a huge paycheck for the fourth film, and though he says each film is his last, he’ll come back if the money’s good enough.
Since I’ve stopped caring about this long ago, the only thing I’m concerned with is whether I should call this Tran5formers or Transformer5. I’m leaning toward the former.
