By A month ago we reported that the TMNT reboot will directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans, Darkness Falls). Since then a few more details have come up. For one, the movie is slated for a Christmas 2013 release, no doubt to qualify for Oscar consideration and be fresh in the minds of Academy voters. Another detail: the ninja turtles are now space aliens. ALIENS!
Michael Bay, the film’s producer, revealed this at Nickelodeon Upfront just over the weekend:
When you see this movie, kids are going to believe, one day, that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable.
I assume he spent much of his day popping children’s helium balloons, simulating sex acts with their stuffed animals, and knocking over their f**king ice cream cones.
