By The next Shakespeare play ready to hit the big screen joining the likes of Much Ado About Nothing, The Taming of the Shrew, is Macbeth. The new version of the film will be an adaptation of the classic play (not a re-imagining), set in 11th century Scotland and will feature Michael Fassbender (and his dongle) as Macbeth, who claims the throne with the help of witches and his manipulative wife, Lady Macbeth, now played by Natalie Portman.
Although it’s got the support (and significant battle scenes, apparently) and director Justin Kerzel, it still has a ways away from becoming a thing due to everyone’s packed schedules through the year. But, it is expected to shoot in the later half of 2013. Honestly, I’m only interested in this so I can make MacPenis jokes.
