By A while back, Andres created the greatest header to ever grace this humble website. Oh, and also reported that the upcoming Monsters Inc. prequel will be titled Monsters University, and that it’d be out by 2012. Well, Upcoming Pixar (the best Pixar blog out there, mind you) got a hold of the plot synopsis and the logo (check it out in the gallery) for the soon to be released prequel. Check out the synopsis below.
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
So really, Pixar is just rehashing the story of Toy Story 1 for Monsters University. Neat! Honestly, this is the first time I’ve not been excited for a Pixar movie. There’s so much that could’ve been explored in a sequel, such as Sulley and Boo’s relationship, or whether Mike ended up with Roz. Instead, an awesome opportunity is wasted for a story we’ve already seen before.
