This morning, I reported about some pretty awesome casting news. Now I’ve got more.
One of the coolest fake trailers ever made is the Green Lantern trailer featuring Nathan “Why isn’t he playing Nathan Drake again?†Fillion. Somebody at Warner Brothers must feel the same way, because ol’ Mal Reynolds is the latest actor to lend his voice to an animated version of Hal Jordan in the next direct-to-video GL animated film, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights.
The film, similar to the Dark Knight tie-in Gotham Knights and Dead Space: Aftermath, will be done as a series of vignettes about the Green Lantern Corps and focus on Hal Jordan training newbie Lantern Arisia (voiced by Elisabeth Moss).
“I was always reading the comic books, I was always a spectator,” Fillion told TV Guide. “Now I feel like I own a little piece of Green Lantern.”
The film comes out June 7th, just ten days before its live-action counterpart starring Fillion’s dear friend and fellow Two Guys and a Girl alum Ryan Reynolds.

Other actors contributing their voices include Henry Rollins (voice of fellow DC hero Robotman in Batman: The Brave and the Bold and all-around baddest dude ever) as the pug-like, poozer-stomping Kilowog, Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy if yer nasty) as former Lantern and Jordan’s mortal enemy Sinestro, Arnold Vosloo (the mummy from The Mummy) as Jordan’s predecessor Abin Sur, Kelly Hu (Hawaii Five-0) as fellow Corpsman Laira, Radio Hall of Fame commentator Michael Jackson (no relation) as Ganthet the Guardian, and Roddy “They Live” Piper as bounty hunter Bolphunga.
If you’re a Green Lantern fan or even just looking to familiarize yourself with the characters in time for the live-action film, make sure to check out Emerald Warriors.
Am I the only one excited for even more Green Lantern? Let me know in the comments!
