Netflix and Luc Besson in talks to make weird, wonderful movies with each other

I'll take sequels to basically everything but Taken

In what should come as happy news to most it appears Netflix and Luc Besson's EuropaCorp are in talks for the director to make some movies for the streaming service. The details are obviously scant at the moment as the deal hasn't been inked yet, but the films would all be labeled as Netflix originals and have decent budgets of $30 million each.

Not only this, but Netflix may be looking into buying EuropaCorp's entire backlog of films, bringing things like Taken and  The Transporter to the streaming service. This would most likely find Netflix buying out or investing in EuropaCorp, a rare move for the company, but one that would give them a ton of TV show and movie franchises to play with. EuropaCorp has been struggling in debt, especially after the flop that was Valerian

Honestly, Netflix is the perfect place for Besson's films and franchises. Often made on the cheap they, but also often totally awesome, the movies could find a nice home on a platform where people don't have to spend a ton of money to see them. It could also all Besson to make some sequels studios would never green light, and maybe he could get Valerian right with another shot. Honestly, I don't care about that. I want another Lockout
