Netflix Now: Japanese Gore Edition

Netflix Now was missing last week. Now it’s back. Contained within? Almost 200 new films for you to stream! Aren’t you lucky?

In no particular order, some stuff that might be worth watching includes: Army of Shadows, Back to School, Nights of Cabria, Ong Bak 3, The Producers, This Is Spinal Tap, and a slew of Mystery Science Theater 3000 flicks. There’s plenty more on tap, along with the usual b-movies like Death Race 2000, RoboGeisha, and Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl, of which the latter two were made by Noburo Iguchi and Yoshiro Nishimura (the Tom Savini of Japan), who have made crazy awesome b-movies like The Machine Girl and Tokyo Gore Police. Worth a watch, as long as your grandma is out of the room!

On a related note, they’re not movies, but I would shame my Japanator peers for not mentioning that anime giant FUNimation has put up practically all their releases from the past year for streaming. While some obvious, quality picks would be Eden of the East or Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (after the first 13 episodes), I have to go out of my way to recommend the tragically beautiful Casshern Sins and the pleasantly twisting Baccano. You know, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Hit the jump to see everything that’s been added to Netflix Watch Instantly!
