By It’s time for Netflix Now, the weekly update on what’s new for you to stream that’s a day late because Wednesday felt like a Tuesday. Damn you, Labor Day!
Surprisingly, Netflix actually added some stuff worth watching last week! There are over a hundred new choices, including comedy classic Airplane!, the third Dirty Harry film The Enforcer, martial arts send-up Kung Pow! Enter the Fist, the AFI’s Best Comedy Ever Some Like It Hot, and five Mystery Science Theater 3000 selections featuring kaiju monster Gamera. In addition, there’s Star Trek: The Animated Series (making Star Trek: Deep Space Nine the only TV series not available for streaming). Woah, it’s like there’s some stuff actually worth watching!
Of course, there’s still the usual old forgotten movies, poorly-produced gay/lesbian films, and dry documentary series, otherwise it wouldn’t be Netflix. And eventually, all that content from Starz is going to disappear. But hey, it’s still way better than the last few weeks! Click through to see what else you can add to your instant queue.
