By Our 2013 New York Film Festival (NYFF51) coverage is coming to a close at the end of the week, and it feels good to be unburdened. There’s a big weight about to be lifted from my shoulders, and it opens up a whole lot of free time to watch stuff on Netflix Instant.
The biggies that caught my eye this week are Quentin Dupieux’s Wrong, the remake of Maniac starring Elijah Wood, and the acclaimed the rockumentary A Band Called Death (read our interview with the band as well as our interview with the film’s directors). Also worth noting on Netflix Instant are the dark Filipino film Graceland, the Ozploitation classic Wake In Fright, the Ki-duk Kim’s oogie Pieta, and the “probably just like the rest of that dumb f**king franchise” film Paranormal Activity 4.
After the cut, the things you can watch on the Netflix this week, and a couple more tunes for the road, whatever that road might be. Like Buckaroo Banzai said: “Wherever you go, there you are.”
