Netflix has amassed a large following since launching as a DVD-subscription service in 1999. Over the past decade, they have collected more than 100,000 DVDs, entered the online streaming business (offering more than 51,000 movies and TV shows for instant streaming in the process), and have plans to expand into Europe in 2012. However, Netflix recently ruffled some feathers with its intentions to raise subscription fees.
To complement Netflix’s Q2 2011 statistics, gigaom made this visually-delightful infographic chart to show just how much of the Internet Netflix controls. However, the real question is to see whether or not these numbers will drop following the new price hike this September.
