As if the fall film schedule wasn’t already packed to the gills, it looks like we have one more fantastic movie to anticipate. Damn you, awards season! Previously slated for 2013, Hitchcock has been pushed up to November 23 of this year. The film is an adaption of the book Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho by Stephen Rebello and explores the story behind the production of Hitchcock’s seminal film, Psycho, while also focusing on his relationship with his wife, Alma Reville. Boasting a stellar cast, the film stars Anthony Hopkins (who looks dead on!), Scarlett Johanson, Jessica Biel, and Hellen Mirren, among others, and is directed by Sacha Gervasi. If you check out the gallery, you can see Hopkins in all of his Hitchcock-ian glory on the newly released promotional poster.
My gut tells me this is one to watch out for, not just because its subject matter is one the world’s most famous directors, but also because it wisely focuses on a very specific time frame from his career. Alfred Hitchcock was an incredibly interesting, and sometimes scandalous individual who changed the landscape of cinema forever. How could you not be excited to see this?
