The fact that I’m laughing harder at the internet’s slew of 22 Jump Street trailers than I ever did at any 21 Jump Street trailers gives me hope that this sequel will be as good, if not better, than the original film– a miraculous and rare situation. I won’t even be mad if 22 Jump Street delivers more of the same basic story seen in the first film. I’m not looking for a sequel that’s going to blow my mind, I’m simply looking for genuinely funny comedy. Based off of this trailer, I think 22 Jump Street will deliver.
Of course, I am a little disappointed by the sequel’s lack of Brie Larson, considering Molly was such a strong character in the first Jump Street, but I am excited to revisit the wild world of Jenko and Schmidt as they take on college and inevitably screw everything up.
22 Jump Street opens June 13th.
