By Although we’ve known that George Miller’s Mad Max reboot/sequel Mad Max: Fury Road has been going through some rough patches for awhile now, principal photography for the film has finally begun. Tom Hardy is still going to star as Max, while Charlize Theron is signed on to play, get this, “Imperator Furiosa” which has to be one of the silliest yet coolest names ever. To go along with that info, we also have a cool plot synopsis from Miller:
“Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived.”
So MM: Fury Road will have “Word Burgers,” badass looking vehicles, and names like “Rictus Erectus,” “Coma-Doof Warrior,” “The Dag,” and “Miss Giddy.” Sounds like it’s doing everything right to honor the originals, but I think the names are slightly more inventive this time around. It kind of has me thinking about what my apocalyptic persona will be. I’m going to be “Bruiser Shovelpit.” He’s a no-nonsense rough-and-tough who carries around the shovel he used to bury his dead goldfish, Jamal.
