By I’m sure there’s going to be long philosophical debates surrounding the humans as they fight giant allegories of nuclear warfare, and I’m sure Pacific Rim is going to be more than just some awesome Megazords punching giant Cthulhus in the face, but I’m just a little sad when I don’t get to see that happen.
I’m a simple man. All I need to be happy with a movie is just some punchy-shooty, some ‘splosions, and maybe a romance or two and I’m fine. Just don’t promise me awesome giant robots fighting monsters, yet show me a picture of Idris Elba and Rinko Kikuchi doing the most boring thing they can. What’s next? A photo of Elba filing his overdue paperwork?
