By Kristen Wiig’s latest is a comedy drama in which she plays Alice Klieg, a woman with borderline personality disorder who wins the lottery. She promptly throws away her psychiatric meds, buys herself a talk show and uses it as a platform to air her dirty laundry and strange ideas before the world.
The poster’s intriguing, looking something like an ill-advised inspirational poster minus the vague message of positivity or, more to the point, a carefully constructed promo for a very singular talk show; it’s a calming, pretty image, but the boom mike in the corner gives a neat hint at the “staginess” of it all.
