By You were already planning on seeing Oz the Great and Powerful simply because Sam Raimi is directing it and Bruce Campbell is going to have a cameo, but I’m pretty sure a swank looking poster won’t hurt. Disney just released this sucker and I love the painted style and clear visual connections to the Judy Garland film.
For those that have missed out, the film is about Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a circus magician who gets sucked up into the land of Oz. It’s pretty clear that he eventually becomes the famous Wizard of Oz, but before that he has some grand adventures. I think that Raimi’s fun, almost child-like style of wonder will be a perfect fit for the film.
