By I have a confession to make: I’m pretty lukewarm on most of the Marvel animated films. Ultimate Avengers and its sequel are no exception. I haven’t seen Next Avengers, but the progeny of today’s Avengers were pretty cool in the first arc of the newest volume of the flagship Avengers comic. Now that all three of these films have been collected (just in time for the live-action Avengers movie, you may have heard of it) it may be time to give the first two another chance and finally watch the third.
In other, bigger news, the Mark Wahlberg action-thriller Contraband is out, as is Ti West’s The Innkeepers. I’m really, really pumped for the latter and will be picking it up later today.
Other re-releases besides the Ultimate Avengers Movie Collection include the Criterion releases of The Organizer and a Blu-ray of Killer Nun, a sure-fire addition to the Cult Club.
