I could see the any one of the kids from Project X growing up to be Jeff from Jeff Who Lives at Home. I had a blast with both of these movies and am so glad they’re out today. Project X is one of those awesome films where you can just shut your brain off and enjoy whereas Jeff holds the title for “Most Beautiful Movie I’ve Seen This Year, Bar None.” Coincidentally, the movie containing my “Best Scene of 2012,” (see the header video) Wanderlust, is out today as well. I saw that one three times in theaters. However, I did not bother seeing Big Miracle because nobody wanted to go with me and I was still paying for movies at that point (I get’m free now since I work for a fairly sizeable theater franchise now, NBD.
For re-releases this week, we’ve got not one but two Criterion releases: And Everything is Fine and Gray’s Anatomy. Also, a 15th Anniversary edition of Evita and a 20th(!) Anniversary of Newsies, as well as a Sister Act Blu-ray two-pack and The Seduction of Mimi. Newsies came out twenty years ago…Jesus Christ.
As always, the full list of releases is below. Lemme know what you’re picking up this week and if there’s anything I didn’t mention that is worth checking out!
