Good morning, one and all. This week is a veritable horn of plenty in terms of new release quantity, but how that matches up to quality remains to be seen.
The only things I can say I’ve even heard of as far as new releases go are Larry Crowne (meh) and Griff the Invisible (super pumped). The former is about a guy who is not Jeff Winger who has to go to a community college that is not Greendale due to a work-related issue (which isn’t having a fake law degree). The later stars Jason Stackhouse as an office drone by day and super hero by night. Aw yeah. There’s two new How to Train Your Dragon shorts in one easy-to-digest two-pack, an Assassins Creed movie, and a documentary about people meeting over the internet. I know that feel, bro.
For some reason, there’s already a re-release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and yet another of The Lion King, but way more important is Evil Dead 2 on Blu-ray. There’s a couple more Criterion releases as well as a 50th anniversary edition of West Side Story for you musical/gang violence fans.
