When the Sabrina the Teenage Witch show aired as part of ABC’s TGIF lineup, I thought it was the neatest show (but Boy Meets World had it beat, hands down) since the animatronic cat on the program was named Salem and was voiced by the same guy who played Norbert from Nickelodeon’s Angry Beavers. Why am I even talking about this? Because The Lords of Salem hits home video this week and my brain just associates “Salem” with “talking cat from TV.”
The biggest release this week is From Up On Poppy Hill, Studio Ghibli’s latest. I haven’t seen it, but it’s a Studio Ghibli film, so expect quality. Other big releases are also ones I haven’t seen. The magician burglar (what a great career title) film, Now You See Me, Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem, and some movie called Empire State that looks terrible but stars Dwayne Johnson, Franchise Viagra.
There weren’t any re-releases this week, but there are plenty of TV shows that got new season box sets. So as a special feature this week, you can find a list of TV show seasons along with the film ones after the jump all mixed together with a few nice videos.
