It may not be the She-Ra some of us remember from our childhoods but it’s a new She-Ra for a new generation of fans. This week the teaser trailer for the Netflix exclusive She-Ra and the Princesses of Power aired online. When her new look was first revealed many were not happy how it seems to be less revealing. The new look has been described as being more appropriate for being battle ready hence the shorts under the skirt look.
The premise of the new series is about basically a girl named Adora of Planet Etheria. She is kidnapped and raised by the enemy of the series – the Evil Horde. Adora soon comes across a mystical sword that calls out to her and boom does a Sailor Moon-like transformation into She-Ra!
This new take on her is led by Nimona-creator Noelle Stevenson, Why is it called “Princesses of Power,” well throughout with her journey Adora will meet different strong heroines who will aid her on her journey. Girl power and teamwork seems to be the key to this series.
